Each year the Economic Society of Australia oversees the premier conference of this type in Australia. In 2009, the conference was held in Adelaide, and in 2010, Sydney will play host.

This event is the premier economic conference in Australasia for academics, and provides an annual opportunity for economists in the region to come together to discuss and present their current research and to attend keynotes addresses from internationally renowned economists.

This year the keynote addresses cover public finance and superannuation, the microeconomics of choice, international finance and trade, and macroeconomics and monetary policy.
